Logistics Manager (Supply Chain)

Position Purpose
The Logistics Manager is a hands-on position that provides assistance, oversight, and management to the Logistics department. Ensures all functions of the logistics department are handled in a timely manner, compliant with FAR Part 145, and all logistics personnel have the proper training, supervision and support to do their jobs effectively. The Logistics Manager reports directly to the Director of Quality.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to office noises (i.e., office machines, conversations, foot traffic). Also, may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full-time, exempt position. After-hours and weekend availability as needed. This position reports to the worksite daily.
Travel
This position may require occasional travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

- Customer relations responsibilities include regular communications with customers, suppliers and partners to ensure needs are met and the Logistics department runs smoothly.
- Supports continuous improvement of processes and focuses on preparing the department for future growth.
- Focuses on building and maintaining long-term relationships with internal and external customers.
- Negotiates better rates with vendors and suppliers.
- Works with CHS field technicians and facilitates movement of tools and parts to ensure projects move forward avoiding logistical delays.
- Reorganizes and manages CHS tool crib including tracking of calibrated tools.
- Creates and maintains CHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training manuals for the Logistics Dept.
- Consolidates and organizes loose inventory around the shop and maintains it into Corridor.
- Manages the engine consumable kits for the engine shop.
- Manages green tag, quarantine inventory, flammable cabinets, and consumables carts on shop floor.
- Works with other department managers to ensure the CHS facilities can support operations.
- Helps to manage and organize the HAZMAT storage area and its contents.
- Manages all storages sites at CHS including the main shop hangar and south hangar.
- Responsible for sharing 24-hour AOG phone duties.
- Works toward ISO 9000 compliance.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ management experience or equivalent relevant experience.

- Previous experience implementing process improvement.
- Understanding of supply chain management principles.
- Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft SharePoint experience
- Forklift trained
- Part 145 repair station or aviation industry experience
